The aim of this project is to expose and introduce students to various construction elements. It also intends to enhance the understanding of principles of construction, sequence of construction activities, importance of basic detailing, construction joints and material application through real life projects. It also creates an opportunity to study the relationship between site and construction method.

Project 2 : Construction Detail and Specification

Integrated Construction Solution

Application of construction elements and procedure is the main technique we would develope in this integrated project. With using our knowlege of building construction, we were able to input appropriate construction methods and materials in our own design of the retreat house. What I learnt the most in this project was the construction process respone to context. As the site was a national park, reducing harm from construction to the site was the main concern to build a building there. Meanwhile, I also understand that the importance of using sketch and diagram in communicating and explaning the construction process. It was really a good aid to demostrate our idea to the people.
