PROJECT 1 | LIGHTING & ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND DESIGN

TASK
This assignment is intended to be completed in a group of 6 students per group to evaluate their environment in terms of lighting and acoustics performances. Prepare a measured drawing with appropriate scale of your case study. Show all the necessary features which effect on the lighting and acoustics conditions of your case study. Our group had chosen Patin Place as our study building. We have carried out an appraisal of day-lighting artificial lighting, noise and sound condition(quality and quantity) in the selected case study, and recorded it in the report above.
OBJECTIVES
-
To understand the day-lighting & lighting and acoustic characteristics & acoustic requirement in a suggested space.
-
To determine the characteristics and function of day-lighting & artificial lighting and sound & acoustic within the intended space.
-
To critically report and analyse the space.
PROJECT 2 | LIGHTING AND ACOUSTICS PROPOSAL INTEGRATED WITH DESIGN STUDIO

TASK
Each student is required to incorporate one (1) A2 board for Lighting Integrated Design and one (1) A2 board for Acoustics Integrated Design. Within your building design, you are required to identify spaces which require artificial lighting and day-lighting. As for the acoustic, you are required to identify spaces to integrate your external noises and internal noises.
-Integration must be solution based and you are advised to incorporate visuals, diagrams and renderings using any environmental design analysis tools in your presentation board(s).
-Calculations to resolve your design integrations solutions must be attached in A4 and submitted together. All kind of proposals need to have a good justification.
OBJECTIVES
-
To be able to show understanding of lighting and acoustics principles in their final design.
-
To be able to solve design problems in relation to sustainability issues (natural lighting, site analysis).
-
To be able to design spaces incorporating lighting and acoustics (when necessary).
