This project introduce us various types of building materials that are being used in construction practice, understand he physical and chemical properties of the building materials being used in existing buildings. We need to choose a building which allows experience and explore most of the building materials. We need to prepare mood board, identification of materials and application of materials.

I have learned how materials could create an environment, how different materials could create a different sense of aura and emotion to the individuals that move around in the space. I have also learned that materials actually effect the environment that we live in. A good environment is created when there is a good sense of materiality in the building and design industry. I find this part of project very beneficial for us first year students in getting to know the materials and the effect of it.
